Jesus taught that the "Kingdom of God is in our midst" and that His reign in our lives will produce an inside out type spiritual transformation. The beatitudes reflect the gospel making us new creations in Christ (Corinthians 5:17). The journey of inside out begins at conversion (Acts 2:38) and continues all the days of our lives (2 Corinthians 3:18). The Greek word translated "blessed" in the Beatitudes is markarios and can be accurately translated as happy, joyful, celebrative and filled with contentment. The implications are far reaching for the believer. Our transformation in Christ results in joy, happiness, gladness of heart, peace and praise.
