The Deliverer Sermon Series

In the first half of the book of Exodus we read the account of God’s salvation of His people from Egyptian slavery through mighty deeds. God uses a deliverer named Moses to overcome the wicked rule of Pharoah and lead the Israelites toward a Promised Land. As we read about God’s salvation of Israel our minds are drawn to the ways that it prefigures our greater salvation. We too were slaves, not to Egypt but to sin. We too have a deliverer, not Moses, but a far greater deliverer, Jesus. God has worked through mighty deeds to bring us out of captivity, and we are on our way to the Eternal Promised Land.
