Legacy Giving
A Gift from the Heart
Leaving a legacy gift to the Friendship Church Legacy Giving Endowment is more than just a financial decision. It's a testament to your faith and a way to ensure the ministries you cherish continue to thrive for generations to come.
What is Legacy Giving?
Legacy giving allows you to express your love for God by including Friendship Church in your estate plans. This can be done through a variety of methods, such as stocks, bonds, cash, will, memorial, beneficiary designations on retirement accounts or life insurance policies, or charitable trusts.
What will Funds be used for?
- Future campuses or expansion
- Ongoing care of the major assets of the church
- New ministry initiatives
Why Consider Legacy Giving?
- Flexible Giving: Legacy giving allows you to make a significant contribution, regardless of your current financial situation.
- Make a Lasting Impact: Ensure your values and faith continue to shape the future of Friendship Church for generations to come.
- Tax Benefits: Legacy gifts often qualify for valuable tax deductions, allowing you to give and leave more for your loved ones.
Ways to Leave a Legacy
- Beneficiary Designations: Designate Friendship Church as a beneficiary on your retirement accounts or life insurance policies.
- Cash: A simple yet powerful way to leave a lasting gift.
- Charitable Gift Annuities: Receive a fixed income stream during your lifetime, with the remaining balance benefiting the church.
- Charitable Remainder Trusts: Receive income from the trust during your lifetime, with the remaining principal going to Friendship Church.
- Donor Advised Funds (DAF) & IRA Charitable Distributions (QCD): Make a gift to Friendship Church through your own DAF.
- Memorial: A meaningful way to honor the legacy of a loved one.
- Stocks/Bonds: A way to donate appreciated assets.
- Will: Plan an end-of-life gift through your will or trust by donating a percentage to the endowment.
If you are 70 ½ or older, you can give up to $100,000 per year directly from your IRA to a qualified charity, like Friendship Church. Since this gift does not count as income, you do not pay taxes on it. Beginning when you turn 73, you can use your Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD). Please check with your tax advisor and IRA administrator for further advice and information.
When requesting a grant from your DAF or your IRA, please request it be paid to:
