FOLLOW JESUS

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

It is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves. It is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8

The decision to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior is the most important decision you will ever make.

Putting your faith in Jesus Christ is more than just believing that God exists. It’s about building a relationship with Him. Becoming a Christian means that you believe Jesus is God’s Son, that He died for you on the cross to pay the penalty for your sin, and was raised to life again. By believing and trusting in these truths as outlined in the Bible, repenting of your sin, and receiving God’s free gift of grace and forgiveness, you are saved!

THE GOSPEL – GOOD NEWS!

When God created people, He gave us free choice. The first people chose to use that freedom to disobey God and live in selfishness. Because of their sin we have a sinful human nature that separates us from God. The penalty for our sins is death. God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to earth in human form to take our punishment. Jesus died and was resurrected to new life. Through faith in Jesus, God offers us the gift of salvation and eternal life and forgiveness of sins to anyone who repents, believes this Truth, and becomes a disciple of Jesus.

Romans 3:10 - As it is written: None is righteous, no, not one.

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 5:8 - But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10 - Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Romans 10:13 - For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Would you like to receive Christ as your Savior? If so, here are steps you can take to pray a prayer of commitment to The Lord:

  1. Admit you are a sinner and choose to turn from your sins (repent).
  2. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross (paid your penalty) and rose from the grave.
  3. Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit. (receive Him as Lord and Savior)

Once you have been saved, God starts to transform your old life into a new life in Christ, which means we become more like Jesus as you start to live out your faith by growing your relationship with God, showing love to others, serving, and living righteously.

We would love to connect with you and celebrate your decision of faith in Jesus. Whether you said yes to Jesus for the first time, or recommitted your life to Him, we want to guide you in becoming a disciple of Jesus!

Please complete and submit this form, which will be sent to a pastor to contact you.

PRAYER

God asks that we seek Him first in all things. He cares about us beyond what we can imagine. He delights when we spend time in prayer - praising, confessing, giving thanks, and presenting our needs before Him. He wants time with us, providing guidance and answering us when we seek Him. We encourage you to pray daily to build a deep relationship with God, as we believe in the power of prayer. Prayer is simply talking to God. You can and should talk to God anytime and anywhere—He's always listening.

BIBLE READING PLAN

The Bible is God's Word to us regarding life and faith. And as His followers, we should know what He says! Whether it’s your first time reading the Bible, or you are coming back to it, we suggest carving out time in the Word each day. Schedule yourself an appointment with God. If you or someone you love needs a Bible - pick one up at either campus as our gift to you! At Friendship, we use the ESV (English Standard Version). You can also download a Bible app like YouVersion if you desire to have a Bible on the go. We recommend joining the weekly Bible reading plan which complements the sermon series or starting with the book of John in the New Testament.

BAPTISM

The purpose of baptism is for believers to publicly declare that they are a follower of Jesus. Baptism by immersion is when a believer is submerged in water and then raised out, identifying with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. It signifies that they have died to their old life of sin and have been raised to a new life in Jesus Christ. Baptism allows you to share your testimony of faith, so others can hear the Good News! Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
